Happy New Year from two sparkly gals and my mother!
Fun fact: My mother came running with the speed of light when she noticed I was taking a photo with my dear
friend Celine. I had warned Celine just a few second before, and then she came running!
For reference: My mother has become the biggest selfie queen on the entire planet, so taking pictures
of herself and others during any time of social gathering has become mandatory.
And this bad boy right here is a traditional Swedish sandwich-cake called 'Smörgåstårta' that I made for New Years Eve. I hadn't made this in 9 years, so it had been a long time coming. Unfortunately, I quickly remembered why, because I stood on the floor for 4,5 hours straight to make this and another mini Smörgåstårta (without ham or meat). To further explain, I had 28 slices of bread that I had to cut off all the edges off from, make three types of different fillings since the cake is a 3-layered cake, peel 1 kg of schrimps, and then put it all together and garnish the cakes.
While making these, I had a whole reconsideration of some of the choices in my life, and one big mental breakdown at the very end when it was time to do the dishes and clean the kitchen (which took another hour).
Conclusion: It tasted bomb as fuck, so the end result was worth it! But next time I'm doing some adjustments to hopefully spare myself 1 hour. Lol.

My first time tasting an Amaretto Sour, and it's one of the best drink I've had for many, many years.
Shoutout to my brother who is absolutely elite when it comes to Italian food and drinks!!
Happy New Year!
